Mitrofanoff Support Australia is very proud to announce Lisa as our Australian Ambassador.  She is inspirational, her energy is infectious, combined with her strength and positivity makes Lisa a perfect role model for all women, men and teenagers living with the challenges chronic disease brings to their lives.

Lisa Cornish is an inspirational women, a cancer survivor who refuses to be defined by her journey with chronic disease.  After climbing to Everest Base Camp, across the Everest high passes, the Milford Track in New Zealand, the Kokoda trail, Kota Kinabalu and part of the Appalachian Trail, Lisa embarked on her most remarkable journey and underwent neobladder and mitrofanoff surgery to finally combat the severe incontinence she had struggled with for over 15 years.  

A graduate of the Australian institute of personal trainers, Third Degree Tae Kwon Do Instructor, and a member of the Australian Fitness Network, Lisa has been actively involved in tailor based training, personal training and coaching, one on one and in group formats with great success. In addition actively involved with assessing skills and competency to recommend progression of instructors.

An advocate for functional movement and a graduate mentor with the Institute of motion, Lisa brings well balanced training and conditioning programs for whole body training. 

With a strong sense of community, Lisa has worked closely with the Starlight Foundation committee on major fund raising events such as Five Chefs Dinner which raises funds to support Captain Starlight rooms in the children’s hospitals for sick children, Tour De Cure raising funds an educating children on cancer and Ride To Conquer Cancer in which all funds raised are given to medical research.

In 2009 Lisa created In Control Fitness, a personal training business located in Brisbane to empower clients and those around them with the knowledge, inspiration and support systems to make the best possible choices to take their lives back after suffering loss of continence.  Lisa’s desire to encourage confidence in people to make the best possible choices for long term health and well being.  Lisa strives to educate and coach clients so that they take responsibility to achieve their goals.  

Each quarterly MSA Newsletter Lisa will be providing seasonal advice, exercises and healthy living tips to help mitrofanoff patients stay in great fitness and good health.
